Why I love my Arc AAA:
- It is bright enough for almost every task that I need it for. That is an impressive statement considering the size of the light.
- It is white. 99.9% of the beam is a nice, pure white. There is a very SMALL blue partial halo around the hot spot of the beam, but it is not noticeable unless I shine the light against a wall for testing purposes. It does not affect the usefulness of the light in any way.
- Regulation: It will stay bright until the battery is almost dead. The moon mode is actually quite useful too, it would be enough to find another battery and replace it, or if you had an emergency situation where you were stuck with no light (a cave, airplane with total electrical failure, camping/hiking, etc.), the moon mode would be enough to see by, and is much better than nothing.
- Speaking of that, it has very good battery life, uses cheap and easily available AAA batteries which are very easy to change ? even in complete darkness.
- It never fails to turn on. Enough said.
- It never turns on accidentally. I have gone through a couple of Inova Micro lights, and a Princeton Tec Pulsar 2, and they all turned on in my pocket, which drained the battery making the light useless when I needed it. There is no worse feeling than having a light that doesn?t turn on because the batteries have been killed while sitting in your pocket. You just don?t expect it. The coin cell lights are awful choices for me because of that. They also use expensive, hard to find batteries which are a pain to change, and must be changed in daylight.
- It is indestructible. I have already dropped it many times onto concrete and I am not careful with this light in any way. It receives the same abuse that all my keys receive which includes being thrown around and dropped frequently.
- It is waterproof to 50', and tested far beyond that figure.
- It is small. Definitely small enough for keychain carry (which is where mine resides)
- The HA3 anodizing is amazing. You just can?t scratch this stuff. With some heavy abuse, it still looks like it is brand new. (Except for a couple of small nicks on the head from being dropped onto concrete from about 5 feet).
- The Arc customer service is amazing. Even though I have never had a problem with the light, I know that Arc stands behind its lights, and will take care of any problems.
That is what I love about the Arc AAA. Anyone care to add to the list?
