Why I love my Arc AAA:

- It is bright enough for almost every task that I need it for. That is an impressive statement considering the size of the light.

- It is white. 99.9% of the beam is a nice, pure white. There is a very SMALL blue partial halo around the hot spot of the beam, but it is not noticeable unless I shine the light against a wall for testing purposes. It does not affect the usefulness of the light in any way.

- Regulation: It will stay bright until the battery is almost dead. The moon mode is actually quite useful too, it would be enough to find another battery and replace it, or if you had an emergency situation where you were stuck with no light (a cave, airplane with total electrical failure, camping/hiking, etc.), the moon mode would be enough to see by, and is much better than nothing.

- Speaking of that, it has very good battery life, uses cheap and easily available AAA batteries which are very easy to change ? even in complete darkness.

- It never fails to turn on. Enough said.

- It never turns on accidentally. I have gone through a couple of Inova Micro lights, and a Princeton Tec Pulsar 2, and they all turned on in my pocket, which drained the battery making the light useless when I needed it. There is no worse feeling than having a light that doesn?t turn on because the batteries have been killed while sitting in your pocket. You just don?t expect it. The coin cell lights are awful choices for me because of that. They also use expensive, hard to find batteries which are a pain to change, and must be changed in daylight.

- It is indestructible. I have already dropped it many times onto concrete and I am not careful with this light in any way. It receives the same abuse that all my keys receive which includes being thrown around and dropped frequently.

- It is waterproof to 50', and tested far beyond that figure.

- It is small. Definitely small enough for keychain carry (which is where mine resides)

- The HA3 anodizing is amazing. You just can?t scratch this stuff. With some heavy abuse, it still looks like it is brand new. (Except for a couple of small nicks on the head from being dropped onto concrete from about 5 feet).

- The Arc customer service is amazing. Even though I have never had a problem with the light, I know that Arc stands behind its lights, and will take care of any problems.

That is what I love about the Arc AAA. Anyone care to add to the list?

yes actually; its guaranteed waterproof to 50 feet, and has been tested to 340 feet which means i can use it anywhere with confidence.

one of the features i look for in any light i buy is reliable water-resistanance because i will not tolerate any light that costs more than a mini-maglite leaking. the arc AAA is the cheapest flashaholic light i've bought, yet its the most water-tight. i've had an M2 and E2e leak on me, so that says a lot about the arc AAA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ahh, yes. I forgot to mention that. It is wonderfully waterproof. That is also another reason that the Arc AAA is better than keychain coin cell lights is because most if not all of them are not waterproof.

I edited my first post to include waterproofness.

It can also be used as a whistle by blowing across the empty battery tube. How many other lights can do THAT!

I too use it for nearly all my lighting needs. It's my favorite. I wear it on a neck lanyard 24/7. Never without it. I also EDC an ARC-LS (2nd fav.) and yellow photon II (3rd fav.) but they rarely ever get used since the AAA is just right for most everything. And even though I'm not a swimmer or diver, it is reassuring to know that it is SO waterproof. And even if water were to get past the O-ring, the potting allows the light to still work. I've tried it with no problems. It's an all conditions light. I think it's good and reliable enough to be used by police, fire, search & rescue, miners, divers, military, NASA etc., at least as a backup.

The ARC-AAA is a miniature marvel! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

photonboy: you can try asking chris from meridiantactical...he ships outside of the US /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

all of those things...

the aaa is a great light.

the thing that makes me happiest about it is the fact that it's literally indestructable. as i've said in the past "when the world is completely and utterly destroyed, the arc aaa's will be the only thing left"

doing a search will find all sorts of horrible and evil things people have put their poor arcs through...

photonboy: no problem! the service chris offers is top notch as well /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i even threw my arc AAA in boiling water once whilst it was on and it came out fine /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

photonboy: I got mine through Vicomptel. He has very cheap shipping to Canada, and good prices too. Another one to check out.
