Wiring advice needed please

Hi . I am hoping someone will be able to advise me on a wiring question please.

I am prototyping something and purchased a few flashlight components from convoy.

I'm trying to wire a flashlight without its casing - and I am a bit confused as to where to place the connection from the battery's negative terminal.

Should this be attached to the driver? Can anyone help please? I feel this should be simple but I can't understand it.
