I bought one of the original Wiseled Tacticals, which they replaced under warranty in 2007 due to battery failure / inability to charge. The replacement has the same problem and I wondered if there was any way to overcome this without sending it back to Wiseled. It does seem that if the torch is not charged for a while, then this causes the battery / charging failure. I was away for six weeks and on return the torch now refuses to charge.

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks,
Dave

Sounds like more of a battery charger or battery question so I've Moved it to Flashlight Electronics - Batteries Included - Norm

Hey

Do someone know how to disassamble the wiseled. I cant figure it out.

Wow, those suckers are expensive. Hope you can get it fixed.

Yeah, I just googled it as I didn't know the light and got a bit of sticker shock. Looks like they're mainly a Danish company. The price I saw was 635.00 euros.

Looking around the website, they offer an infrared area lighting kit for only 11,995.00 euros. I mean, how can you live without it? You can buy a good used car for that. LOL

And only 2 years warranty? If I'm spending $700 on an overpriced flashlight that looks like a $30 Costco flashlight, I'd expect a 10+ year warranty.

They must sell these to government agencies, because I can't see many people buying these for personal use.

Good point. I didn't notice that. For that price 3 years would be nice.

I gather they sell to police, military, government, etc. It could be not too many private individuals buy them.

What do you mean "not charged for a while". What was a charge when you left them?
If you keep Li-Ion discharged for prolonged time it will die. It is how they are. Nothing unexpected here.
You should keep them at about 50% charge for long storage.
