The only thing I can think of is the restrictions that come with the original SD head. The lens is so close to the emitter you can't fit bigger dies like the XM-L in there, per Don's posts. You know how we flashaholics like to mix 'n match our LEs...somewhat less flexibility with this head, unless you are set on keeping the 083B in there. :shrug:
