Without an IR filter...

Does anyone have a decent powered pointer that has removed their IR filter and experimented with what it can do? I know this can be dangerous without glasses, but I'm interested in what my 58mw might be able to do without the IR on it. Burning trash bags is pretty cool but I want to have more fun! Don't worry I play safe. Can removing the IR filter effect beam collimation or divergence? Also how easy is it to do andf possibly reinstall on a leadlight?

yeah i want to know this for when mine arrives? i also want to know on the same topic, if the ir light is in the beam or is it like a flashlight and spreads?

this would help as a 58mw unit will burn your eyeout at a quick pass so it would make no difference if the ir filter was removed or not??
