Hi everyone -
Been reading these forums (and learning plenty) for a while and now have a question. Is the WE Sniper too big and/or heavy to comfortably carry in a front cargo pants pocket? I was considering getting one, or possibly a P3D Q5 or Tiablo T20 Q5. I know the cpf philosophy of 'buy all three!' but just one is about all I can do right now. I've been trying to check out beamshots (thanks to all those who take time to post) but there isn't much I've found for the Sniper. Each has it's pros and cons, but I would lean toward the WE if it's manageable. I currently have the MTE 42180 with the Seoul emitter - pretty decent for <$15 - and use it every day. Thanks again, you guys are the best!

Welcome LedZep
The WE Sniper is 130mm long slightly over 5 inches and weighs 5 ounces. It is not very big. You can also look at the Olight product line for pocket lights.

Good luck

Thanks JohnB - actually I meant OLight T20 but I wrote Tiablo. Any feeling on ability to upgrade these three choices as advances in leds come along? As I understand, the WE has drop-ins available but I think Fenix and OLight would require some surgery. Thanks again.

For me the Sniper is to big to EDC, but for me anything bigger than a LOD-CE is to big to EDC. If you are after a 2 x 123 cell light, you won't get much smaller than the Sniper. It is probably a little heavier than some other lights, but value for money you can't go wrong with the WE. Here are some pictures of the Defender which uses the same drop in as the Sniper.

Thank you KeeperSD, I appreciate your input.
The WE looks awesome - rock solid and excellent light output - but for me might be pushing the limit of comfortable carry. I will consider this vs. the Fenix/OLight option. Anyone have both and can comment on performance and useability? Thanks.

I really like my Sniper and use it often in and around the house, but for me, it's a tad heavy for EDC'ing on my body, like belt carry or in a pocket. I tried it for a while and the weight is rather noticeable. The more I carried it, the more I noticed it. Now, I'll only carry it if it's in a backpack/fanny pack or if I'm just making a run to the supermarket. Then again, the weight may not bother you but it's definitely hefty for a light its size if you're accustomed to a MiniMag. Size-wise, I think it's acceptable for EDC, if the weight doesn't bother you.

For me, a lighter, smaller light is preferable for EDC, I have found. So it's back to my HDS EDC.

Thanks OceanView,
I guess I may have to get more than one after all!

I have both and if I had to choose one based on ruggedness I would go Wolf Eyes.
If weight and size is an issue go with a Fenix P3D Q5.
I got one (Fenix) about a week or so ago and this is one bright light for its size (brighter than Sniper) and having several modes (6) is quite handy as you are sure to find the brightness level you want or need.
The only thing I didn't like about the P3D was the lack of grip so if you plump for the Fenix I would strongly advise that you get one of the Tactical Bodies available from Fenix Stores. The Tactical Body really helps with the grip and now I think its just about the perfect EDC.

Thanks j3bnl -
Which version of the sniper do you have? I wonder if the current cree Q2 version would seem about as bright as the Q5 p3d. Does either light have a more useful beam than the other?

You can upgrade the WE Sniper to the 4 mode 190 Lumen drop in. It is nice to have the option. The Olight T20 Q5 is a very nice product. I have one here that I use as a pocket light.

Good Luck!

Its the latest version of the Sniper.
Think the Fenix just edges it for light.
Beams are about the same maybe more spill with the Sniper but turbo on the Fenix is defo brighter than the brightest setting on the Sniper or the Guider I have.
