I was wondering if this battery setup would work for my Fenix TK11?

My real question is whether there needs to be a "button" on the tip of the battery to fit and work in the TK11

http://cgi.ebay.com/Two-18650-Li-Io...4|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50

I was looking on fenix-store.com for the kit that they used to sell of the 18650 and charger, but couldnt find it. So I resorted to ebay.

So would that ebay link work for me?

Thanks

This doesn't really answer your question, but some of the very first 18650 cells I got were those tenergy flat top 2200 mAh protected. They were the worst cells I ever bought, much worse even than ultrafire/trustfire.

I got them with that same charger as well, which I no longer have. They had a pretty significant loss of capacity, don't like to charge up. One already had a pcb failure and I stripped it just to see what was in there. The other one has gunk around the annode connection now. I don't know what this white gunk is. Maybe the steel top got wet and rusted, or maybe they vented? I sort of keep it around for a curio now.

But, I don't say my experience will be yours, and I had absolutely no clue how to care for Li-on cells when I bought them.

If you can use flat top cells in the TK11 I am sorry I don't know, but even if there isn't a spring at the top, you could probably use a spacer magnet, or perhaps a solder blob on the driver.

No Problem using flat top in TK11 it does not have a spring, but it has a fairly large positive nipple like a battery. Hopefully they are not too fat.

If you need cheap 18650, you might look at the 4Sevens Tenergy 2x18650 2600mAh + charger package. My only concern is these are a little bit of a tight fit. Sliding them in and out a couple of times helps. Not a huge problem, because you can push them out from the other end.

Or just get a defacto standard AW18650 cell and AW139 charger from Lighthound.
