You could also try Spybot.

I've found that sometimes, Spybot finds things Adaware doesn't and vice versa. I run both from time to time.

I use the free Sygate as a firewall. I heard that Kerio is also quite good but have no personal experience with it.

I had the free Zonealarm for a while but found it to be insufficient. The commercial version may be better but again, I have no personal experience with it. The free ZA didn't show me all the traffic and I couldn't block UDP or ICMP, which wasn't shown in the first place. With Sygate, that's not a problem, and other rules can be defined, too.

Spybot is a very good program, however you may want to go to this link to Spybot for compatibility with various other spyware software.

This could just be internet gossip, but supposedley Spybot will install spyware, also, which Spybot will not remove, and essentially hide. It will eliminate the competing spyware, while keeping its own...
