I just acquired an old incan laser produces/surefire shotgun foregrip with P60. I am looking for the best way to convert to led.

I don't have any experience with weapon lights, but from what I have gathered, for indoor use it is probably better to not have an extremely bright light.

Most of the drop ins I see advertised seem to emphasize brightness, since this has been a popular platform for a long time, so I was hoping someone had an older, less bright P60 drop in, they had upgraded away from sitting around and willing to get rid of.

Have a look at malkoffdevices.com they have exactly what you need.
search for M61.

Thanks for the suggestion I appreciate it, but according to that site, it doesn't work with surefire forends and the specific models.
"The M61L will not work in SureFire Forends. Please see our SureFire Forend specific models."

They take an M31 with a vme head

Now I am even more confused ;-) The M31 says it is for a single CR123 and my forend takes 2 CR123 cells.

I found this quote from Gene Malkoff on amazon "The SureFire Forend lights were built over several years and generations. Interior dimensions are not consistent across the product line. We designed the MDSFFE to avoid all the tinkering, shimming, adding springs, stretching springs, etc needed to make the M61 Dropin work reliably in all SF Forends."

I just assumed that if you couldn't use the M61 you had a single cell forend. They are great to help and answer questions if you want to go that route.

I know the current emitter is a P60 so I am fairly sure the M61 is the right drop in, but due to differences between interior dimensions it is not always and easy drop in. The MDSFFE replaces the body as well and is over $100. More that I was looking to spend at this point.

If I'm not mistaken the KX4 was the original drop in head that people used with the older style forends. I'm sure somebody with a better memory than I will chime in.
