Whats the minimum safe discharge rate needed by each battery? I don't know if these are serial, parallel or a mix and I don't think anyone knows the total current yet :)

I'm in for fully loaded, dedomed, which is $485, right?

Any cell is fine. But I prefer 18650BD 18650BE in mines. Your pricing looks correct

Def the brightest light so far!

Sup Beam X60Mvn Domes-on
protected bd

8390@ turn on
7881@ 30 sec
300 Lowest mode in variable mode
11 Lower mode 1 click down from variable mode
117,500 lux

on an unrelated note, i finally got around to measuring the throw on my x60vn pdt burn in - its 610,000! GOOD LORD! thats nearly tk61vn numbers!

Re: X60Mvn - Brightest Portable Searchlight

also worth noting

This is the same "shell" or host as the supbeam x60

IMO the newer x60m "acebeam" feels much nicer and more refined than typical "supbeam" quality

Not that supbeam was bad by any means, but this x60m model has a nicer smoother selector ring, slightly better anno finish, and less sharp machined edges. I would honestly put it on par with nitecore/fenix quality and feel ... definately a plus... as soon as I held this light it just felt better than the older x60

also - this light does make more heat than the x60 - it gets warmer faster and needs to be turned down after about 2 min 30 sec vs the x60vn being around 4-5 minutes if i remember correctly...

those are nice numbers. I had a feeling 10000 lumens was a bit stretching it.
How in the world is your x60vn hittin 600k?!
Are they all around that number? That's nutts. 6000 lumens and 600k lux?

Re: X60Mvn - Brightest Portable Searchlight

Wow crazy awesome numbers!
Thank you Justin.
Woul it be safe to say that the X60Mvn is pushing close to 10,000 LED lumens then?
I wonder if Vinh will try a PDT KT like the TK75vn KT?
Or would it not even be worth it?
Ty

Re: X60Mvn - Brightest Portable Searchlight

So @ 30 sec only 1100 more lumens than the MM15? I want mine pushed harder!

Would it be worthwhile to burn these in?

Impressive, but very disappointing at the same time. If the Vinh modded version is only (only lol :tinfoil:) ~8000 lumens, that means the stock numbers were way off.

Wonder what it would do with some 20R/25R's in it? Or D1/E1 4.35's The most I have heard of the MT-G2 being pushed was 3300lms, but at a cost? I'm running 25R's in mine and I like it, big azz wide flooder, big time brighter than my stock X60. But what do I know....or care...

All I can say is WOW. I just got mine today and very impressed. Like you said Vinh, you need some room to really see what this light can do. It is probably the brightest light (hand held) so far. I received the version 2 MTG2 Z1 as well and going out tonight to compare. Thanks again for pushing the boundaries.

Vinh got 3700 EACH out of two MT-G2 emitters in the MM15vn, confirmed by selfbuilt's testing (with the usual caveat that he does not guarantee absolute lumen accuracy. And that was OTF, not LED lumen. I have to admit, I'm disappointed in the numbers also. They are certainly high compared to most other lights, but when the manufacturer is claiming 10k lumens stock, you would hope for more.

Still, this makes a recent comparison between the X60 and X60M more understandable. I really didn't think it looked that much brighter than the XM-L2 version, and this just confirms what I saw in the beamshots. Given that the X60 has more throw, a cooler tint, and can run longer without overheating, I'm finding it difficult to see a reason to buy the MT-G2 version. (Of course, I was never seriously in the market for either one, so it is easy for me to say that. Just too large for my use.) Still, I'm sure for someone who likes warm tint, or just wants the brightest offering, the X60M is a monster.

I agree, how come the MM15vn does 7000+ with 2 emitters (3500+ lumens per emitter) and this does 8400 lumens (2800 lumens per emitter)
