I was re-assembling my D10 clip after loctiting the screws and deburring the backing plate to make it a little more finger-friendly, when I thought... why not make a video? It's not the greatest quality, but hopefully it'll be of some use to those out there who can't seem to get the clip installed.

You'll have to excuse the quality -- I'm using a four year old P&S camera and I didn't think to set up any lights to make it easier to see. But anyway, if it helps you out, I'm happy!

MerkurMan,

Nice job and thanks.

I was going to say that I didn't think anyone could install the clip with the tool that came with it.....but by the end of the video, I see that you had to resort to your own tool.

Congratulations, and I think you made it look easier than it really is for many of us.

useful video. and made it look so easy.

to me it wouldnt of helped. hope it helps others.

i needed to redrill and file the holes on my d10 just to get a sight of the thread. (it was about one whole hole size off, 3mm) no matter how much i tried to bend, adjust and tighten them together (halfmoon and clip) i could not see both threads at the same time. after toying with the light for some time i finally decided its worth keeping and started to use some drastic measures to get the clip attached.

I see. It's unfortunate that there seem to be such loose manufacturing tolerances. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I got a relatively well-fitting clip. With one screw in it, the other is about half-visible. 3mm is crazy. :shakehead
