Just got an E-mail from zebralight about the SC51. Two weeks for preorder and 4 weeks to ship. The wait has been killing me,I contacted zebra two weeks ago and they would not give me an answer. I almost pulled the trigger on the SC50+ last night but I'm glad I waited. I have been wanting a zebra for awhile. This is good news for some bad for others(this will make four lights this month JB RRT-O,D10,D10 CAMO, EX10:twothumbs) The wife thinks I'm crazy. The wait begins.:sigh:

Thinking of ordering one.

what would be the benefit from the sc50?

Probably bragging rights of being the first light to get 200lm OTF from a single Eneloop.

That is my only concern. Will it have much of a hotspot ? Or will it be all flood?
I have some energizer rechargable nimh batteries, this light should acheive 200 lumens with them also right

You cannot beat the price and performance of this light. The circuit Zebra uses is just crazy good with this form.

I was reading some of Selfbuits review and I guess that Zebralight does not recommend 14500 rechargables? I know Selfbuilt used some but it would be a shame for the light to go :poof:. I guess you wouldn't even need the 14500s if you had some good NiMH.

Some of the Zebralights are designed to take 14500s and some are not. The SC50, for example, is designed to take 14500's and puts out about 200 lumens on one (169 lumens for the "w" model).

But the SC51 and H51 are optimized for NiMH and are specifically NOT designed to take 14500's.

The SC51 should have the same beam as the H51 so just look for H51 beamshots for reference, I think I have seen some around here somewhere.

What's amazing is this light is only 3.2'' long. It should be a fantastic light for pocket or belt EDC. My problem is deciding which to buy, the SC51 or the H51. They are the same light. The H51 is the angled version of the SC51.

Member nekomane was kind enough to provide beam shot comparison of the H51 and the Jetbeam RRT-0 here.

Zebralight SC51 on website (Hidden)

If you search for "SC51" on the Zebralight website the page for the SC51 comes up.

Delivery is scheduled for Oct. 23, 2010, price is listed as $64.

This seems longer than other estimates of delivery I have found.

Good news is full spec's are on the page!

Whether it was or wasn't hidden earlier, the SC51 is definitely not hidden now, and is shown on the featured lights page.

Henry I'm with you buddy. This is probably one of the most eagerly anticipated lights on CPF this year. And let's face it, with its reported output on Eneloops and fantastic regulation, you'd have to be a fool (or perhaps a non flashoholic) not to want one.
