ZL SC51w not working properly

Just got it this evening and was playing around with it learning the different modes and it quits on me.To be sure it wasn't the batteries I put some powerex 2700 as well as some new Eneloops 2000,same thing I even tried some Alkalines in it to be sure,same thing.

IF I keep the button depressed and try loosening and tightening the battery cap back and forth it will do a slight low powered flicker.. nothing else ,no modes or anything.I would hate to have to send it back being that I just got it in the mail today.

Anyone else have this problem?:(

UPDATE*... AFter leaving the battery out of it for 30 minutes I just tried it again and it worked now.

Does anyone know if the circuitry resets after a certain time without power or anything?This seems strange to me that it would work with the same battery (a freshly charged and new Eneloop) after being out of the light for a time

I wonder if there is some extra anondizing on the threads of perhaps they need to be cleaned. It sounds like something is not making proper contact. I had an SC60w that was this like out of the box and all I had to do was clean the threads and the inside of the tailcap and it was fine. It has been fine for over a year now. It was just dirty.

Did not try that on the threads since its brand new,thx tre,I will try that...I did however polish the contacts on the batteries with some Flitz and it did not seem to make much a diiference as far as I can tell.

no problem. Also, clean inside the tailcap around the spring. You can see the non-anondized area around the spring that comes into contact with the body. Clean that area of the body too. I've had some lights (not just Zebralights) that arrived way over lubed and did not work because of too much lube.

Surprisingly it came off black after using the Flitz on it ,maybe they are overlubing.Too much of a good thing I guess.I will keep an eye on it for the next few days and see how it goes.The tint is beautiful though much better than my old Q2 light I have,just getting used to the UI which is nice but has some slight learning curve to it compared to other lights I have had,hehe.Thanks for the help.
