As usual, I stopped by the flashlight section of a local sporting goods store and discovered a light I hadn't seen before. On an impulse, (ok, an irresistable force that draws me to LED lights), I grabbed the carded flashlight labeled "TekTorches Photon Pump V8 Torch with computer chip technology".

They seem to be manufactured by a company called Zweibruder and distributed in the US by Coast.

It's a little smaller than my Arc AAA, and slightly brighter as well. It claims to get 200 hours from the 3 button batteries included, and has really impressed me so far.

I did a search on the forums, but couldn't find any reference to Zweibruder, and I was wondering if anyone else had found these, or one of their other models.

Guess that review (like a number of others) is a little out of date; as I'm no longer out of LR44s. I ought to have around 75 or 80 of those things floating around here from a recent ebay purchase.

It isn't an excellent, top-notch light, but it isn't a terrible, horrible light either. For light-duty use or life's little day-to-day emergencies (looking for a dropped pen, reading a menu, or aiming for a keyhole), it should suffice quite well if that's what happens to be handy at the moment. But it probably won't withstand heavy-duty usage and severe abuse as well as some of the other smaller lights available today.

Thanks for clearing it up. It looks like it's distributed under so many names, I just didn't find the right ones.

It's interesting...some of the light shows such a decent design, then other parts (like the feel of the switch and the lack of a protective lens) detract from it. Overall, for brightness and an around-the-house light, I'm pretty happy with it. Especially if it actually gets 200 hours of battery life...
