I'm looking for any info about the xenon lamps that come in the Garrity Steel Beam torches. I can get these lamps at a local store but I would like to make sure that this will be a good buy, not a waste of money.
I recall one CPF member being not to enthusiastic about the Steel Beam torches. However, he only wrote about the torch and it's durability, not about the lamp. I can't remember which thread this was.
Anyway, I would like to know how well the 3D model lamp works in a flashlight with adjustable focus because I would like to put it in my Mag-Lite 3D. The Steel Beam's are pre-focused. I also would like to know how bright it really is and how well it compares to other (halogen) lamps you (with that I mean someone who owns or has own the 2D or 3D SB) have.
By the way, the Steel Beam's not only come in 2D and 3D but also in 1AAA keychain, 2AAA and 4AA side-by-side. You can see them here (they're still not on the Garrity website).
