I have several 2C Mags converted to 3 - C123 with the appropriate halogen bulb.

I am seriously tempted to try putting an EverLed bulb in the 3 - C123 set up. I understand that EverLED is only designed to work up a normal 5 Cell Maglight - for 7.5 volts, and the 3 - C123 - comes out to 9 volts - but I'm sorely tempted.

OK - it seems obvious, don't exceed the manufacturer's recommendation on the EverLED. Well, I"m curious. Anyone tried this?

I recall reading that 9V is the absolute maximum they can tolerate, so with fresh batteries it will get smoked.

You could make a dummy 123 with some dowel, screws and wire then run it off 2 cells.

I thought (and I'm pretty sure it's true) that the Everled could be used in a "Normally" 6-cell light, which would also be 9v..
