Can you use R123 for E1L:huh2: ? Sorry if this topic has been discussed before......

Yes you can, it puts out the same amount of light as the E2L and runs for about 30mins

Only 30 min? I coulda sworn it was more. My TW4 with a R123 gets 20min and it's drawing 1.1 Amps from the battery

You should use protected r123a only, because the E1L will discharge them under 3 Volts!

30 minutes is runtime in regulation. The TW4 probably doesn't run in regulation for 20 minutes. Do a runtime plot and you'll see.

30min is about right but with the Mc2es, I find the light gets more use that that.

I EDC an E1L with an R123 and its a great combo. I use AW's Protected R123 (750mAh). I charge the cell about once a week, but I have never had it fail on me when I needed it. I just sent my KL1 off to be modded with a UW0J and eventually a reflector, it makes it a bit more useful for EDC'n.
