My experience is with NiMh and NiCd rechargeable cells.
In terms of last longer, if you are talking run time, then the answer is no.
If you are talking about life of the cell, ie the number of times you can recharge, then the answer is, yes.
You should only cycle the cell at a maximum of 1 times a day for best result.
If you start with a full cell and place it in a high drain device (I guess that would equate to something producing over 100 lumen) and run untill discharged, then you would allow the cell to rest and/or cool down before recharge.You would not use the cell for that day. ie Discharge-Charge=1 cycle
If you start with empty cell, charge at no more than 1amp. when cell is full, Let the cell stabilize/cool down before use. ie Charge-Discharge= 1 cycle
