Is this residue from a leaking lithium AA battery, and what to clean it with?

I've got a flashlight that had alkalines and an energzier lithium AA battery in it (not my doing).
I put vinegar on it and it didn't react (fiz/bubble), and I put water with baking soda on it and it didn't react either.
since it doesn't seem to be from the other batteries, does this look like it's from a lithium battery?
If so how do I clean it?

the stuff that looks like grease on the small part is waterproofing grease

It was alkaline after all the small bits I tested vinegar on didn't work because they had grease on them. . . .
