I've seen a ton of mods that use the C and D Mag-Lites. I found some really good switch disassembly instructions that would make the electrical connections and heat sink installation a whole lot easier. You could modify the switch assembly without having to work inside the body tube. Take a look:

It looks like removing the whole switch assembly is just a matter of taking out the rubber switch protector and loostening a set screw in the hole through the center of the switch. The whole thing should slide right out!
This may be old news but I searched and did not see any instructions like these. It will make mods a lot easier.
