my bulb in the turbo head blew but can't get the replacement bulbs in the area I live.

Can I use bulbs of other "R" models? Or the replacement bubs for the M2 turbo head? It appears it should be compatible. What is the voltage of the 8 series bulbs?

Whoa - get sound advice first, before you try any LA substitutions. SF make their LA's specific to the battery outputs.
The 8AX runs at about 4.28-3.75V, but that isn't the whole story.
Resistances and Amperages, and suchlike Elektrical stuff have to be taken into account as well.

Basically, I learned an expensive lesson myself recently, experimenting with LA's.

Perhaps try posting on SFDB, in "Ask Customer Service" ?

Well, I was *experimenting* with a few ideas I had for my SureFires, and a moment of recklessness cost me a blown 225 Lu MN11.
It should have worked fine the way I set it up, but nope - matching the LA to the battery is very important.

The MN11 only had 3 battery changes on it, and it will cost around $25 to replace.
