If it brighter than cr123 then you will direct drive the led, it will burn out.

yeah, tragic day today when i receive my L4 (DOA) so i just returned right away to lighthound. last night i ordered 17670 at AW and a DSD charger mainly will be using on L4 thats why 17670. now.. i ordered L5 from tacticalsupply. can i stil use the 17650? or much better to use 18650? for a better runtime. i think 18650 will fit on L5 body.. am i right?

Sorry to hear about the dead L4. The L5 body will NOT fit an 18650 in stock form. However, there is enough metal there that you could always have it bored out to fit! The 17670's you have for your L4 will fit the stock L5 body perfectly.
