Newly Enlightened
I realize the U2 is nothing new, but i thought folks might care to see some pics anyway =)
I would characterize the beam as being extremely white, and very clear without artifacts. This, to me, is just about the perfect light because it has ample spill, and still has a good spot - and of course 6 brightness levels. I actually rarely use any brightness levels other than the highest & lowest though.
Here is a shot that shows this oval marking on the inside of the glass on the far side. Very weird, but surefire is going to fix it.
Body without the tailcap
Disassembled:
Inside the Tailcap:
Inside the head (sorry it's blurry)
another inside the head
The goods
Down the tube
tube with battery in it... see how much play there is in there
And now for beamshots. Admittedly i under-exposed a bit on this, but imo that's better than overexposing.
I had a single fluorescent lightbulb on during these beam. I white balanced against the wall. Exposure was 1/125 sec for all pics. The light is about 2 feet from the wall.
No flashlight beam reference shot:
U2 highest setting:
And for fun, wiseled tactical on high
And wiseled tactical on low:
