Are the XRE and rcr123 compatible?

The P3 XR-E that I have running on one rechargeable 123 pulls 1.1 amps hot off the charger. I don't mind living dangerously though. 
I have ran this setup for 1hr and 10 minutes before it dimmed noticeably and the cell cut off.
I am waiting for a piglet board to run my setup regulated though.

I ordered a couple of P3's from you. I want to try a cree in my Nuwai Q3. I will be running a regulated rcr123. Will this work with the stock circuit? What type is the stock circuit? What type and where can I find a piglet? Do you have recommendations as to any other circuit that will work?

Goldserve is the person I bought the piglet from. He also sell a board called the flupic which will drop right in the QIII and has many cool features.

Was that a regulated rcr123? My Q3 runs for 25 minutes on a fresh charge(regulated rcr123, stock circuit).
I'm still not sure, by your post, if it is completely safe for the XRE to handle a rechargable battery.
