My first computer was an IBM 1620, circa 1961. It was a lot more powerful than the first digital computers.
My first PC was a Radio Shack TRS Model I. Even the base unit had more memory that the 1620 and was a lot more powerful.

One of the first uses that computers were to be used for was the "easy" task of translating languages.
So far the best we have still can't do it.
I guess we'll have to wait for Mike. (That's for the Heinlein fans)

Translating languages is not a trivial task, I tell ya. It gets even more complicated when you have to translate languages so they match local customs, conventions, grammar, etc. Probably why the process is often referrd to as "localization".
