Does anyone have a photo of a GD500 converter (from the sandwich shoppe), showing the wiring instructions/diagram or a mod they've done? I've searched here and the Shoppe and come up blank?

You can reference the nexgen wiring diagram. That should be very similar.

I do have a little question to this
where does the V+ Led comes from?
that lead to the small black thing above/left the resistors is so small, but no other connection visible?
Cant be going over the tiny resistors, though?

It goes through the sense resistorss. The chip on top left of that is a current sense amplifier that senses the voltage drop across the sense resistor and feeds it back to the switcher chip for current regulation. There is less than a 10th of a watt dropped on the sense resistors.
