Have just ordered the Fenix L1D CE and noticed on the
fenixlight.com web site that an available accessory is the
"2AA body tube".

Does this mean I could fit the tube so it can take two AA's?

If this is the case, does anyone know if I would get longer
runtime, a brighter light or both??

Sounds good !

You will get a L2D-CE. Longer runtime, and the light will be brighter in turbo mode than the L1D-CE. I think David said he will be selling them in about a month.

Many thanks for this info. This is great as I would like the
extra grunt, but don't like shape of the L2D CE
(personal preference only)

With a 2AA body tube I've got the best of both !

FF, I think the 2AA tube will be the same as the tube for the L2D. I doubt Fenix would produce different tubes for aesthetic purposes. I think they will just be reselling the tubes alone for use with the L1/2D head and switch.

So, unless someone else makes some better looking tubes, your choice is probably limited.

I also like the look of the L2P battery tube, as I can recall the tubes are slightly wider
with the L1D/L2D CE

bump... any update to just get a L2D body seperate?

I want the ability to swap between L1D and L2D (CE). Will the L2P body work?

Body parts are not available from the Fenix store yet for the L*D-CE...at least not that I see yet.

I just emailed the fenix-store about this. He said they will be available to buy mid March.

I was impressed by the review of the L2D-CE that showed it as 122 lumens while the L1D was only 61 lumens.

 Mebbe a RCR123A body as well? Hmm?

Fenix never offered one for the previous L series and it would tread on their P1 market.
As much as I'd *adore* one, I can't see Fenix doing it.

Just have to wait for the aftermarker options :)

I would *love* a CR123 and perhaps a CR2 body.

On a side note, I stuck a freshly charged 14500 in one of those electronic barbeque ignitors.... this thing is now AWESOME!
Apart from the fun fun pain inducing muscle activation ammusement, the metalic paper on beer bottles is a downright light show! Quite awesome :)

Sound like a little teeny weeny stun gun :)
