I picked up a couple of copper colored 2D mags at the Target last month for $4.22 each, and had absolutely no idea what to do with them. I contacted CPF member Ledean about cutting one down to 1D size, and am very happy with the results. His price was very reasonable and the turn around time was less than a week. His workmanship is great, the threads are perfect and the tail cap fits great.
I am going to run a 3 cell LED with one of Litemania's 3AA to 1D adapters. Can't wait for the adapter to arrive!!!!

You should contact CPF member "Ledean" about his pricing for the cutdown. All I can say is I am personally very happy with his work and price and recommend him 100%.

As for the battery holders, "LITEmania" is selling them for $3 each in the dealer section under his surplus sale

I don't have the holders yet so I am not sure of the brightness and runtime. I assume it will be about as bright as a 3D, but with far less runtime
