Some people carry the EDC in a holster. So yeah it would be EDC.

Hell some of us in cold climates could EDC a 3Dmag in winter big coat pockets!!!

I carry my EDC in my briefcase, and I still think of it as my EDC even though it sits on the floor under my desk all day.
