After one month I finally received the 3 mode 1,2A Driver board from KD witch I
wanted to use for my C2 mod.
The board fits the pill exactly.
In fact it is a 4 mode board – 3 modes are directly achievable low/med/high, with
mode-memory (~2 sec.) – after about 2 sec. on low mode there is a little flash and
after this flash the board goes to a very-low-mode if you tap the switch again.
The modes:
As emitter I took an SSC P4 USVOH on star.
I had to reduce the diameter of the star to make it compatible to the pill
and I reduced it's thickness about 0,5mm to get the emitter in focus.
As expected the SSC gives a bigger, but well concentrated spot with good throw
and smooth transition to the spill.
It is a much more useful beam in comparison to the small sharp edged spot of the
XR-E.
With this HDR (high-dynamic-range) picture I tried to show the beam. It is not exactly
what the eye is seeing but it gives an idea:
