I was wondering the same thing. I have one of the 2 AAA (didn't know they made an AA version). I like the form factor, the rubber cover on ther body, reasonable brightness, just a nice little light.

It should handle them just fine but I'm not sure. IIRC the light has a driver in it so the driver should be fine with the slightly higher initial voltage and internal resistance of the battery shouldn't be a problem.

Wait till someone else either confirm or disprove it.

Well, i have the Inova Radiant 2AA flashlight.

This is their previous model (from 2006).
Bought it locally from Target, for $20.

I've run several sets of Energizer L91 Lithium cells
through it, with fine results.

No ill-effects from Lithiums at all.

Don't know if the electronic "guts" are the same in the Bolt 2AA, however.

BTW, does the Bolt model still make you insert the batteries BACKWARDS ?

Shouldn't be a problem. A 2xAA light will be using a boost circuit. I don't know the VF of those particular LEDs, but it can't be much lower than the ~3.4v that two L91s provide. You may be overdriving ever so slightly with fresh cells, that's it.

So doing this should have little to no ill effect on the life of the LED correct? Thanks for the help.
