I have a incandedcent 4D Maglite with a NiMh battery pack which gives me a voltage around 4.8 V.
Since the voltage, because of the NiMh's in my Mag, is between the TLE-6EXB (2-3Cells) and the TLE-6EXA(4-6Cell) I am unsure which bulb to choose for maximum output.
I am a newbie at this so please advise me!

Regards

Hi TNT-Knut,
:welcome:

4.8v is the normal voltage of 4 cells (even 4 x alkalines, 'rated' at 4x1.5=6v actually drop to around 4.8 under load, and soon drop to even lower), so you would need the 6EX (designed for 4+).
4.8v from NiMH would be overdriving the 6EXB, and it may :poof:.

Thanks a lot guys!

The Malkoff device would probably be a better choice, but with Norwegian tax-law (value over 35 $ is 25% tax added) and shipping it would come close to 150$, so I'll try the TLE-6EX..
