L1 CREE have regulation problems?

Oh not, not again... Let that horse rest in peace.
Is it no longer an issue/problem with this light? I don't know anything about it, what should I search for (assuming it's been discussed to death)?

There has been no problem with the L1 for ages and ages.
The issue appeared right at the beginning of the L1's release in a small number of examples and was quickly resolved.

Early batches of the lights flickered after 5-10 minutes on high. This was pretty limited and has definitely been ironed out.
