Hockey tape around my P3DQ5?

my P3DQ5 is too slippery for my needs. especially if i have my hands covered wtih water, cheeseburger grease, or any foreign substance that may improve lubricity

so i decided to wrap it with some hockey tape i have.

will this do anything bad like trap moisture and damage the finish? i took care to not tape around the head even though numerous tests on CPF say it would not be harmful

That would work but I think it would get ditry quickly and you would have to replace it often. I have seen some people here use shrink wrap. The good thing is I think it would be grippier and more washable than tape. Nice choice in knife by the way.
