I think the question must have thrown him for a loop because you had assumed a TIR would even exist for that light. It doesn't. There is nothing like that available though many of us probably wish there was.
A UCL lens from Flashlightlens.com will help to get a few more lumens out the front though.

Milkyspit can do the mod for you. I think he actually uses a Surefire
TIR and grinds it down to fit the Novatac. Here's a few pics of the very

Thanks for the replies and excuse my ignorance. I did not know the TIRs did not exist as a stand-alone part.
