Today I was searching again for a good bikelight. When I looked at one of my P7 Maglites standing on my table I thought that this would be a perfect housing for a P7 bikelight. You only need to cut down the battery tube and use a external battery and there you have a Maglite P7 bikelight. My idea is to cut down the battery tube right under the switch module so I can use the original clicky. Than you only have to drill a hole in the tailcape and connect the Maglite with the battery. I plan to use a driver baord to regulate the current.
I only have two major problems:
1. I want to cut down the battery tube. That wouldn't be a problem but I want to use the original tailcape. So I have to lathe a new thread in the battery tube. Is there anybody how can do this for me?
2. I need a external battery. Which battery do I have use if I want a runtime of about 2-3h at 2.8A?
That are my two major problems.
