Having just charged up the Pelican 7060, I wanted to take a few shots compared to a couple of my other lights. Yes, all run on different batteries. Nonetheless, the purpose of a flashlight is to light up the darkness.

So, here it goes. The order of the pictures is always the same; First is the P10A2 on high. Second is the 6P/M60. Last is the Pelican 7060. The first twelve shots were taken for 10 seconds @ f3.5 @ 18mm.

I'm not sure why, but this following picture turned out waaaaay worse than it actually was.

There were various pictures tacked to this board below, but the light from all three lights washed that out.

The last three I took at 10 seconds @ f5.6 @ 92mm

While I was taking the photos, a Henrico Co police officer pulled up behind me and got out with his dimming Stinger. The conversation went something like this:
-What are you doing out here? The park closed at sunset.
*Taking pictures.
-Taking pictures? Of what?
*Henrico Co's new flashlight.
-Huh?
*I'm sure you know you guys are getting a new flashlight in a few weeks. This is it (handing over to him the 7060).[He then turned off his Stinger and put it back on his holster]
-I've heard about this. Who makes it?
*Pelican.
-"Click" Niiiccee.
*Yeah, it does pretty good up close and throws quite a distance.
-So who are the pictures for? [as he's shinning the light into the trees]
*A forum that I belong to of people that *like* flashlights.
-This is pretty bright. Actually brighter than my Stinger.
*Yeah, no offense, but it was looking pretty weak when you came up to me.
-Well, it's what we are issued.
*You can buy your own lights though right?
-Yeah.
*Then this is what you need for your back-up light. [handing him the 6P/M60]
-Oh this is a SF 6P. My Stinger is brighter than that.
*Ummm...turn it on...
-Holy Sh*t:faint: [turning the Malkoff towards my dark vehicle]
*Uh huh.

Needless to say, I told him about Gene's site. He was definitely impressed. He said he really liked the 7060 because of the long throw (he called it "range";)) but would love to have the Malkoff for car searches.

Anyway, I hope the pictures work for you guys. Remember that the camera - no matter how good - can ever really show what your eyes are truly seeing. There was quite a bit of ambient lighting as you can tell from the photos. Man, it makes me appreciate the country a whole lot more.

Nice beamshots and a good story to boot! :D

To my eyes the M60 definitely wins the contest there unless you need a lot of throw. But still for a 2AA light the Eagletac holds up pretty darned well.

I agree about the M60. I have never failed to impress anybody with that drop-in. But this thread here showed something different when it came to actual LEO's.

As for the EagleTac, I have been singing its praises since I first got the light. For a 2AA light to hang with the big boys is, to me, impressive as hell.

Is it me or does the first 6P/M60 shot look greenish?

Nice shots BTW, and nice amount of light from all of those lights...

My M60 does appear greenish in color in some shots. Look at this thread (the white wall shots) where I compare the M60 to the Eagletac P10A2. It has been that way from day one. In fact, my M60F is much whiter than my M60. It's weird, but in person, if I'm not comparing it to any other light, the tint does not look green. In fact, look at the three pictures on the bridge. And in the picture of the sign, it looks very warm, almost incandescent. It's strange, but in those photo's, I had my camera on the same settings for each shot. But that's luck of the draw I guess. It is, however, still just about the perfect light.
