How to visually identify different LED's?

I did a search first and did not find what I was looking for.

I am hoping someone can tell me how to ID different emitters visually. When I pick up a random light and look at the LED, how do I know if it is a Cree (XR-E), Seoul, Lux 1, Lux 3, Rebel, K2, etc. etc. ??

Pics for reference would be GREAT!

Thanks

+1, a compilation of macro pictures of the emitters would be really useful. I don't think I've seen a thread showing that.

* typing in the specific led into google and reading the datasheet
* getting a look at the pics offered from shops selling the led
