Apart from maglites, i have never seen any decent flashlights in any stores here in the UK..

I'd be interested if anyone knows any as it would be nice to be able to see lights in person before buying them.

Try your local police supply store, military supply houses, army navy store, or high end outdoor / camping supply place.

Lowes around here (Parkersburg, WV) has SureFire 6P LED and Fastenel carries Pelican flashlights. Ironically enough there is a Military surplus store thats called Surefire yet the only flashlights they carry are Fultons.

Try www.heinnie.com
It's mentioned on their site that they have:
"showroom hours" Tue-Fri 10.00 to 16.00
Don't how far they are from you....

Found them, doing a web search.. (surefire + uk)

Cheers

You know, that's a really good question. And I have no idea what the answer is. I would try specialist camping/outdoor shops first. I think John Lewis may have the odd LED Lenser product. DIY stores like B&Q have nothing? Tesco superstores? Argos? It never occurred to me to look for anything beyond Maglites when I was living in England. Now you ask the question I wouldn't know where to look.

My fave B&M flashlight place is REI... Surefire, mag, inova, princeton tec, gerber, photon, coast-lenser, streamlight too IIRC... and TONS of headlamps to pick from. Its almost like they know what Target/wally sell, and pick anything-but.

My second fave B/M is Frys... mag, streamlight, pelican, Inova, lenser, T.O.P.

I was in Fry's at the weekend and they seemed to have drastically reduced their high end flashlight selection compared to what they used to have. Looked like only Mag, Inova, Lenser, and just a few clearance items of other brands.
