After reading some post, I decided to go with the acrylic ball. I don't like the acrylic lens because it gives out a very squarish beam.

Which acrylic ball fits a Kingpower K2 (2AA)? The entire diameter is 25mm. I think the len is about ~21-23mm.

Do you think the 3/4 will do?

Do I need to remove the reflector and the lens?

Thanks

Well the 3/4th fits the minimag and the lens finder on Flashlightlens.com tells us the minimag lens is 21.61mm.

I think the 3/4 will do nicely. :grin2: I like helping when I can!

It should be a friction fit...........half of the ball sticks out the front.
If it's not a perfect fit then an O-ring will help out. If it's really rolling around then you need one a little larger.

The problem you might have is that the Kingpower cannot adjust the distance from the ball to the emitter like the minimag does so you might end up with mini asphere performance or you may end up with an ulgy mess. I have no idea what the proper Fl (focal length) would need to be for the ball.

 Why would it not work with a Cree? I think it would do best with the Cree myself.

+1 for Cree emitters and aspheric lens

Its only if the lens is perfectly focussed that you get a square hotspot
Just focus out the square and you can get a nice roundish hotspot.
Seoul emitters and aspheric lens look terrible, focussed you see the bond
wires very clearly :sick2:

I have both for my minimags.

I am not a fan of the ball since they did damage to the LED in two of my lights.

The lens is nice because it is removable if you use the lens holder and I find it out throws the Ball in my set up.

Would the minimag lens holder work for the kingpower K2?

Remove the original lens and reflector?

the lens holder will fit any flashlight with a 1 inch diameter head.

No need to remove anything it slips on top of the flashlight.

Well, I just purchased the 1/2 acrylic len from the sandwich shoppe. I also purchased the minimag lens holder (actually i puchased the entire package... they don't sell the holder by itself).

Do you think Fenix E20 makes a good host for the len and holder?

Thanks dd61999 for all your valuable inputs.

I have never tried the e20, you will have to let us know how it works out. I am sure it will work great since it uses a cree and is focusable

I was able to mess around with the lens holder yesterday. I don't recall seeing a slot to insert the acrylic lens OR the 2 lens they provided me with the purchase... do I need to use glue?
