I've been scouring for a week now looking for something that will fit my needs. One AA, pocket clip for lamp-up carry, with momentary capability/forward clicky with around 100 or more lumens (round about). I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thanks.

Howdy Patrick and welcome to CPF,
In case you haven't seen it yet, be sure and check out the CPF Welcome Mat:

This is a bit dated at this point...... but you might still find it interesting:

And of course if you plan on using rechargeable batteries you should probably read a bit about those too as some types can be dangerous if not used correctly:

And here is another nice flashlight review site:

By the way, it seems that Toaster suggested a nice light to fit your checklist of requirements.

Thanks to both! Guess I missed that Eagletac one. Want to keep on looking though as it seems the clip isn't too secure to keep the light in the pocket from one of the reviews. Maybe it's wrong? This is for LE work in mostly plain clothes and just need something "tactical" and monkey simple that still fit my requirements. Thanks for the links as I'm reading those now. If any other suggestions come along, I'd appreciate them.

There are other choices for bulb-down clip. Is there any particular reason you have to have a bulb up clip? I am just curious since in most cases the bulb down position keeps the working end of the light more protected, and the switch more quickly accessible as you grab for the light.

I wanted a super bright single AA light at a reasonable price for years. Many of my LE friends did too however they have lost too many with clips so requested no clip in favour of pocket or pouch carry.

The light in my avatar is a single AA 100 lumen (Nichia 2W) with proper forward momentary clickie switch. It's also focusable 1 to 4x which my LE friends preferred to any type of dimming.

Imported a quantity of them and they done very nicely.

Noob here. I never knew there were so many choices,it's overwhelming. I'm about to become a flashaholic. Bulb up for me would be to use on the brim of a ballcap for dark closeup work. Any other suggestions?

I use a neck/head index shooting style when I use a light so grabbing the light from either slacks or jean style front pockets puts whatever is pointing down will be on the pinky side of my hand. I'd rather not fumble around with the light in that circumstance. My surefire E2 executive is perfect for this but it's a 123 type that I hope to replace with aa.
