i am looking for a bright (>60 lumen) headlamp for general outdoor/camping use and for man trailing.
what do you think of the Petzl Myo XP 2008?
is it right that it has no regulated led driver?
alternatives?

I have the Petzl Myo XP belt and it's an excellent headlamp with a nice throw and flood. However, dont get the Petzl Myo XP, get the Myo RXP instead. The RXP is compatible with lithium batteries, which are lighter and operate better in cold conditions. The RXP is more expensive, but wel worth the extra you'd pay over the XP. These are excellent headlamps for hiking or running but go for the RXP, which is indead regulated.

Make sure you get one approved for rechargeable batteries. I thought it was poor that Petzl didn't offer a replacement on the effected models and I would be reluctant to buy from a company that doent look after its customers, particuarly with a safety concern.
