I still have a few of the old, original Photon Micro keychain lights. I can't believe how dim they are now even compared to the cheap Chinese knock-offs. The coin cells in them are fine so I know it's not because of weak cells.

Do any of you know a good drop-in replacement LED for these? I guess I could buy a few of the cheap knock-offs and just use the LEDs from them but since I'm not up on all that's out there nowadays, I was wondering if any of you knew of a good, bright replacement LED for them?

I recommend the Nichia GS or DS. The GS will be slightly brighter, but will tend to have a worse tint. The DS will have a more traditional hotspot and better tint.

You could also use the Snow used in one of the DX fauxton's.

Also, have you considered getting one of the newer Freedom's? CFRLights has them for $10.90 shipped with the latest Nichia GS.
