Polystinger LED DS Question

Hi All,

I'm seriously considering getting the Polystinger LED DS. I have the regular Polystinger now, and I'm afraid it's not going to give me as much run time as I need. (this summer I will be on bike patrol for 8 hours a night, can't just drop it in the charger in the cruiser).

What's the general consensus on this light? Will it fit in my current open holder for the regular polystinger? How does it compare to the iNova T4

Runtime is an alleged 2h on high, 3.75 on medium and 5.5 on low - though expect a little less. The "low" setting is still pretty bright IMO and plenty bright for most things.

You could always carry an additional battery if necessary, though that is not optimal.

I took a short look at the light here. I like it a lot. Its very bright, and seems plenty durable.

Good luck.

Ok, do you know if it will fit in the regular polystinger holder? (I have the open top and bottom one)

Just a suggestion, but you could use a 4 x Li-Ion 18650 pack (14.8V) to power the auto charger.

Weight would be minimal and you could at least keep the PolyStinger topped off between uses.

Otherwise, it will drop out of regulation at 1hr 45min on high.

Edit: Almost forgot, yes, it does work with existing Stinger chargers.

I don't know the answer to that, but the DS flavor (dual switch) Polystinger is longer than the incan Polystinger as you can see from the pics in my link above.

I bought a Rip-Off brand holster from brightguy.com (its shown as an accessory on the Polystinger LED page), and cut the flap off to make it a drop-in holster. Costs under $10 I think.
