Just wondering if anyone knows who I need to contact for repair of this charger, if available? I don't have any of the papers, etc; that came with the charger. It only charges on one side. Thanks!!

Just unscrew it yourself, and look for the power-device that regulates the current through the sides. It will be a larger part on the PCB with three connections, either a power-MOSFET or -transistor. Maybe one of them burnt out. Just take a look....

Thanks for the advice but I'm no where near that technical minded.

.....or, who did you buy it from? FlashlightZ who carries it, will take care of any warranty issues for their customers.

If you brought from js burlys then it must be several years old and probably out of warranty. He went out of business for a while and the new store no longer carry pila products, so not sure how much he can help you.

For what it's worth . . . .

When i received my brand new Pila IBC charger last year,

it had this very same problem !

Would only charge on the Left side.

The Right side would not "register" a cell being inserted.

Called my dealer (Flashlightz dot com), and they replaced it.

Big Thumbs-Up for this dealer ! ! !

:twothumbs :goodjob:

I would take it apart just to see what's what, because the same thing happening to me. I took mine apart and found the screw/nut that keeps the metal clip fastened was loosening up (the metal clip being the "spring" that keeps the battery in place). A very simple tightening of the screw fixed the problem, and viola.

If you do decide to go down the Pila USA route, they will take care of you. Ken and Mary are very nice people and service is #1.

BTW . . . .

I had looked all over my Pila IBC charger,
for a way to dis-assemble it, but to no avail.

Was convinced that it must be glued together,
with no possible way to open it, without damage.

Today, i see the 4 phillips-head screws are cleverly HIDDEN
underneath the little round, self-adhesive rubber non-skid feet.

Duh ! ! !

:stupid:
