So I'm looking to find out when my Maha Powerex 2700mah AA cells were manufactured. I know how to read the Eneloop date codes but couldn't find any thread mentioning these cells. On the seam of the label is the following code: "07 - 02 RQ"

I emailed Maha to ask how I should interpret these numbers. Their reply:

Thank you for contacting Maha. The date code is inside the PVC tube.
It is not printed on the cells.
I'm not sure what to think. Do I have to cut off the label and inspect the tube?

Well, I didn't get any response here so I contacted Maha again and then cut open a volunteer to satisfy my curiosity

Just to be sure, I asked Maha again if I needed to cut off the plastic label in order to find the date code. The response:

HTML:
Yes, the only way is to cut off the plastic tubing to get the date code. I do not recommended doing this.
So, instead of finding a PVC tube with the mythical date code, I ended up with a naked battery and nothing else.

Look on the bright side, at least they answered you.

I never did get a response when I contacted them over a year ago.

The PVC tube would probably be the battery wrapper you cut off.
