So I finally got around to taking pictures they where taken at 150' all with the same exposure and the WB at 6500k.

it appears on the photos that the 10X not only covers a wider area than the m6@500, but that the max brightness is also higher !
This is something new for me. To be sure that it is the case, it would be nice if someone could measure the peak intensity on both lights. If this confirms the visual impression, it would be a big surprise, because the current wisdom syas that if the 10x puts out more light overall, it is out-throwed by the m6 due to it's tighter beam.

The 10X has 2 lamps, in a larger reflector (overall) that puts out a little more than 500 lumens, a little more than the M6 HOLA does. And in a wider beam. So it doesn't surprise me a bit that the picture of the 10X looks brighter overall because of more dispersed light and a little more lumens...
And from my own uses, the M6 does outthrow the 10X (barely) because of a smaller, more focused hotspot...

I understand what you say, but what I meant was that even the hotspot seems brighter (higher intensity) in the 10X's beam. This is visible on the "white" rectangle on the wall which seems more brightly illuminated on the 10X's beam picture.

The X10 is using the 500L lamp and the 110L lamp so yes is a lot brighter out to about 250'.
The Mag is a stock Mag Charger with a Welch Allen 01160 bulb and Powerstream batteries.

When I get some more time I am going to do these shots at 300' on a 15'x20' white screen.

For $35 the UK SL6 holds it own I would say it is the most bang for the buck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It was at its tightest setting and yes it does old its own. It is actually my longest throwing light when I am able to do some longer test I think it will really shine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
