Nice. "Flashlight Porn"

It's interesting the way the beam just stops suddenly. Is that the top of the fog bank? I've seen shots of high powered lights on what looked like clear nights that behaved the same way though.

:welcome:

It's the inverse square law in effect, but squared. The intensity of the light coming out of the lens falls off with the square of the distance, reflects off of particles in the air, and the intensity of the reflected light coming back to the eye again falls off with the square of the distance. The intensity of the visible beam falls off proportionally to the fourth power of the distance from the light, leading to a precipitous falloff in the visibility of the beam at some distance from the light.

Very nice pics!

You could actually post them full-size if you wanted, so people didn't have to click on them - they are all within the 800 x 800 pixel CPF limit.

Great photos. They show very well how tightly collimated the beams from the aspherics are.

all you need now are some green and red filters and you'd have some really long range lightsabres, great pics! all we get in singapore is smoke from burning joss paper and crappy exahusts :D

Out of curiosity, what software was used for the HDR?

-Robert

Hi
Sorry for the slow responce, had a sick kid, but now she is better

I use photomatix pro and photoshop sc4.

The Olympus E-420 has an HDR funktin called bracketing that makes it easy.

I'm happy you all liked it

There is one 2c mag, and this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29385
and one like this bought in a lockal store, modded with a R2 module and aspheric lens: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14909

Will thake more pornpics for you later when the light is good

I'd be afraid to drop one of those aspherics bezel first and destroy it :ohgeez:

I know...havent dropt it yet.
But those aspheric bezel's are way to expencive for me.
If I had a lathe I would woop it up in a sec. But no lathe in my reach.....
I would LOVE one of the VL bezel's like this one: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/201842

But 35$ for the bezel + shipping to Norway is to much for me right now.
