Anyone Excited about the O-light K90 Intimidator?

Its not all that often anymore that a new light arouses the anticipation and excitement in me that it used to, but this one is an exception.

With a custom balanced rechargeable battery-pack and a max-lumens claim of 2200 from a single led, this light looks to be one of the most exciting developments in led technology for a long time.

To top it off, the appearance is pretty smart too. :thumbsup:

I'm curious as to who might need one of these. I guess the police might like the idea of being able to effectively incapacitate a suspect, or search an area at night without specialist equipment, but otherwise?

I don't understand that one word up there, the one that starts with the letter "n"... what does it mean, and what does it have to do with flashlights? I'll just assume that it means the same thing as the word "want".

The more info that comes, the stronger my opinions of whether to continue to follow the trails or not will become apparent.

It is still very early days information wise.

Look at the fins on that thing. 2200 Emitter lumens off an led...wonder if u can fry eggs...

I'm following this one too, thanks for the link. Interesting looking light. All that finning tells you all you need to know about the amount of heat the SST-90 needs to dissipate.

Obviously early days, but those thin fins look quite fragile. If the design stays the same it looks like the K90 is not going to take kindly to rough handling.

'Battery pack' bothers me a little. Is that going to be a one piece unit that can only be bought from Olight or are the cells inside it going to be user replaceable? Hope it's the latter.

Because that thing is gonna cost about as much as my car lol. Oh well, never say never. (but by the time i'm gonna be after something like that its probably gonna have a SST-900 in it, and i'll be happy i didn't get the only 2k lumens one haha )
