HDS 17670 battery tube, will it work with a novatac

Hi,

I just saw this on lighthound http://www.lighthound.com//HDS-EDC-...tery-Tube-with-Spring-and-O-Rings_p_2816.html

Will this fit on a novatac, if it does im getting it as it is dirt cheap for double the runtime.

Its got it pictured with the novatac 120 head and tailcap so im gessing it does, also is that grey HA or black??

Yes it will work, I have one of them on one of my Novatacs. It doesn't come with a spring or O-rings... I did the Hogo 18650 trick (linked above) on mine. Make sure you buy the Novatac O-rings from lighthound because the HDS O-rings are too big.

I would say neither, it's natural... It is kind of a brownish green.

I have my tube on one of the Ultimate 60's shown on this page. The top picture shows the color, the tube is very close to the color in the first picture.

Something important you should know: Novatac can not handle 2 x CR123. Only HDS EDC can handle that 2 cells setup. You can only use 17670 cells or 18650 using Hogo's trick with your Nova.

yup noted that too but thanks for the heads up, very expensive oops, this is my first $100 torch so not going in any pockets with keys/change other torches like my D10 has for the past year.

What is the diameter on the inside of the tube, why do you need to mod it with a metal strip to get it to work with an 18650, is it to do with the spring?

Ill read over his thread again.

The tube is big enough for an 18650 to easily fit, but the spring wont let an 18650 through. The brass plate mod takes up less room so the 18650 will still fit.
